Violated!

You know, I realize that the dreaded V-Day "holiday" is nearly here but they have gone too far this time.  I've been seeing V-Day merchandise in stores for months.  Yes, months.  Before Christmas even. As crazy as that is, that's not where they crossed the line this year. 

I was sitting here last night, checking up on my facebook, minding my own business .. and the business of all my little FB buddies who post their business in their status messages .. enjoying a bit of chatter with Her Royal Pookiness and a thirst quenching, caffeine pick-me-up when I saw it. 

There was a big HEART on my DIET COKE can.  I felt so violated!  They have crossed the sacred line! I can't even believe it! (and as I typed this, my mind went on a mini-vacation .. so here is a small comedy break for you)







I have had a 30 year relationship with my Diet Coke, I rarely ever stray to another quenching beverage. None are so sweet to my palate as my lovely Diet Coke.  I even have a collection of Coca Cola paraphernalia lovingly displayed throughout my kitchen and dining room.  And the horrible people that are V-Day marketers had marred my perfect companion!  That great big heart was just staring at me.  Mocking me.

So, I did what any rational person would do.

  I shot it full of arrows and let it bleed to death right there on my desk.

Then, of course, I realized the heart was for the support of women's heart health and not actually V-day ... but still. 

Hearts.

On my Diet Coke can.

V-day should have ended with the massacre.
